TEAM
Coming together from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, our skilled team of professionals is the backbone of Mountain Top Boys Home. Their ideas help shape the direction and mission of our organization as it continues to develop. Read on to learn more about some of our incredible team members.
Donnis Steele
Executive Director
Donnis Steele was raised in a pastor’s home in the inner-city of Chicago, which ministered to broken and rejected families and children who had experienced abuse, addictions, and homelessness. He was involved in the foster care system for most of his life due to his parents fostering 75 young men over the years. For the past several years he has been working with at risk children to provide a safe and stable home environment through foster homes and group homes. After several years of seeing hundreds of children displaced from their families, the need to provide a stable and loving environment is very clear. “I am excited to join the Mt. Top team to continue building on the strong foundation that has been laid.”
Rich MacDonald
Program Coordinator
Having more than 30 years’ experience in residential care in a variety of settings for children from DFCS and DJJ, Rich MacDonald has been employed at Mountain Top since 2008. He held the position as the Director of a Juvenile Justice program in Florida, and faithfully served our country with honor as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy. He attended Rhode Island College. Mr. MacDonald’s tenacious work ethic is infectious. As a strong leader, motivator, and mentor to our boy’s and staff, he is a valuable part of our team.
Leslie Sanford
Foster Care Director
We are excited to announce Leslie Sanford! She joins us as the new Foster Care Director for our foster homes program “Mountain Top Homes”. She joined our team in May to help launch this new ministry. She comes to us with great experience having worked in foster care for over 16 years. Her experience in foster care started at DFCS but then transitioned into working with private foster care agencies so that she could work more closely with children in care as well as supporting the foster families. Leslie comes to us having a Master’s in Forensic Psychology, but most of all a heart for God and a love for children and families. She is married and a mom of 3 boys.
